Does Hair Loss Shampoo Actually Help? Here Are Three That Have Been Tested and Proven Effective
By : Chris Baker
If you are losing your hair, you don’t have to just accept it and throw your hands up. In fact one of the easiest ways to combat it is with shampoo products specifically formulated to help with hair loss. You are already washing your hair, so why not choose a shampoo that can help slow the hair loss you’re experiencing? No hair loss shampoo is going to be a wonder product and start growing a full head of hair back for you, but they can certainly help.
I’ve listed three popular hair loss shampoos that you should consider and some of their benefits.
Tricomin Shampoo
Tricomin has been designed specifically for men and women who have thinning hair. Copper is the key ingredient in Tricomin. Copper can be linked with several bodily processes that are crucial for healthy hair and skin, such as:
- -Helps with your metabolism and energy
- -Aids in scavenging away harmful free radicals
- -Aids in the production of melanin (for pigmentation)
A healthy head of hair is rich with copper, but as we get older that amount starts to decrease. So the best use for Tricomin shampoo would be thinning hair due to aging, really. It really helps to inject copper back into your hair follicles to promote cell growth which aid in collagen production and other helpful proteins.
Thymuskin Shampoo
This is a shampoo product that was developed in Germany to help stop hair loss. It has been used by Europeans for years now and has proven effective in stopping hair loss for the past 15 years. The great thing about Thymuskin is that it is a shampoo but also a lotion. The ingredients in this shampoo/lotion cleanse your scalp with very small thymus peptides. What they basically do is clean out any junk in your hair follicles so that the active hair loss ingredients in the lotion can be absorbed effectively. The lotion is what actually helps to promote your hair to grow again. So it’s like a two part system: the shampoo cleans out the hair follicles and the lotion gets in there and promotes growth. Also the lotion is designed to help fight against dandruff, as an added bonus.
Nioxin Shampoo
This may be the more commercially popular of the three (at least in the U.S.) Salons really push Nioxin for customers who are experiencing thinning hair or hair loss in areas. Not surprisingly, it is not just a one bottle treatment but several different “systems” that you can buy and use. As of this writing there are currently 8 different levels of Nioxin. Levels 1-4 are for finer hair or hair that’s been treated with chemicals. The main purpose of
these levels is to add volume to your hair so it appears thicker. Levels 5-8 are for a more medium or even coarse textured hair and they focus more on hydrating hair and help to provide moisture control.
You can experiment on your own with what particular level/system is best suited for your hair. If you go to the same person over and over at a salon, then they can make a good starting recommendation and will be able to tell how well the product is working for you as they routinely see you and assess any growth or thickening of your hair.
Don’t waste another day using regular shampoo that has no extra benefit of promoting hair growth. These products are certainly a bit more expensive than other brands of shampoo, but you only get one head of hair. Isn’t it worth it to at least try one of them to see how they’re able to help your hair loss?
